How to convert bits to bytes
B = bit × 0.125
Multiply the value in bits by 0.125. To go the other way, divide by the same number, or multiply by 8. For example, 5 bit × 0.125 = 0.625 B.
About the units
Bits (bit). The smallest unit of data, a single 0 or 1. Network speeds are quoted in bits per second.
Bytes (B). Eight bits, enough for one character of plain text.
